Happy Canada Day!

Canada Day just wouldn't be the same without attending the Raymond parade.  The kids had so much fun, especially when we met up with cousins!  Roger & Trisha were just down the street from us with her family.
Emma loved trying out Uncle Roger's giant chair!

We sat by Mindy & Dan and their family.  (Shauna's family usually comes, but they had to go to Matt's grandpa's funeral).
The parade was great.  The kids didn't get as much candy this year (which wasn't a bad thing).

After the parade, we came home and worked on cleaning out the garage.  It's needed to be done for a long time and it was a huge job, but it looks so much better!  We got rid of a bunch of stuff and got cupboards organized.

We then took the kids down to the 'Party in the Park'.  They loved getting to play in the bouncy houses and we went on a wagon ride too.

We decided to take the kids home and try to put them to bed for a few hours so that they could rest before we took them to fireworks.  We probably should have just let them sleep, but we didn't... We had to work to get them to wake up (they were so tired).  We loaded them into the truck and went down to where we'd left the van.  Lennard had to go turn off lights in the park so they could do the fireworks, so we were there about a half hour before they started.  Of course, as soon as we got in the van, Emma decided she needed to go to the bathroom!  That made for an interesting few moments, but we managed to work it out.  When the fireworks finally started, the kids were so tired that Ben just wanted to go home and I ended up holding him through most of the show.  Emma did pretty good for about half of the show, but then she was 'done' too.  Thankfully, we were able to get in the van and get out fairly quickly after the show ended and get home without too much issue.  They fell asleep immediately after they got in bed.  Was it worth waking them up?  Who knows... but they can't be mad at us in the morning for not taking them!
