General Conference

We had a pretty lazy morning after a late night last night.  We were able to sit and watch the Saturday morning session of General Conference with Marcie's family and then we quickly got ready and headed out to catch the Trax train to downtown SLC so we could attend the afternoon session of conference at the Conference Center!  It is the first time that Lennard and I have been to conference together, so we were pretty excited.  We were really high up, so it was almost impossible to tell who was speaking, but thankfully they have large tv screens that we were able to use to see the speaker.  It was a wonderful meeting.

We would have loved to have spent the rest of the afternoon just wandering around Temple Square, but we ended up heading back to Marcie's with Trisha.  It was so nice to be able to take the Trax instead of trying to find parking downtown.  There were so many people everywhere!

Once we got back and changed, we decided to go out for a bit.  We went and got something to eat at Panda Express and then wandered around Hobby Lobby for a while.  We were looking for a specific toy for the kids, but they didn't have them, so we went over to WalMart and found them.  We ended up finding a trampoline too...!  It was less than half the price than the ones we'd been looking at at home (even with the exchange), so we decided to get it.  It was hilarious when we asked a worker to find us a flatbed to put the trampoline on... he was pretty determined that Lennard not lift anything with his broken wrist!  Another guy walking by heard the conversation and stopped to help.  So nice! Then we went outside and had to lift it to get it into the van anyways!  lol  Oh well... Lennard only 'balanced' it with his right hand...

We visited with Trisha and Marcie for a while in the evening and then we got as much loaded into the van as we possibly could so that in the morning we wouldn't have to wake anyone up.  We said our goodbyes before going to bed.  I wonder how long it will be before I get to see Trisha again...  She's signed on for another two years of teaching in China, so it will be a while.
